Our business is all about people.
Since 1997, we’ve been working in partnership with government, local communities and businesses across England to provide expert solutions that enable better lives.
We are a proud partner of the National Citizen Service Trust, a not-for-profit social enterprise established to shape, support, champion and lead a thriving National Citizen Service (NCS).
We work with the NCS Trust as a provider of the service. We have been delivering NCS since 2011 and currently operate as a regional delivery partner in the West Midlands and South East. This year we are supporting more than 10,000 young people create brighter futures and make a direct and positive impact in their communities.
The high quality customer experiences of our NCS is supported by our integrated, local network of experts. We currently work with more than 14 local delivery providers to support local young people participate and complete NCS.
The National Citizen Service is a 3 - 4 week programme that gives young people adventure, discovery and social action through outward bounds, independent living experiences, life skills, volunteering and social action projects based in their local communities.
Young people will have a short time away from home and will be in an environment which creates opportunities for them to meet new people, make new friends and be part of something amazing. The current NCS programme follows 4 key phases:
Phase 1 - Adventure
Phase one is one week of adventure where young people live away from home on an outward bounds experience, where they will get to know some amazing people and take part in a range of activities from surfing to abseiling. The best part? Young people will find themselves in a group of 12-15 incredible people they've never met before – people who will change their life and whose lives they'll change.
Phase 2 - Discovery
This is where young people discover something new! Young people will be reunited with their group in a uni-style environment where they’ll develop life skills like confidence, leadership and communication, as well the practical life skills you don’t learn at school, to boost their CV or UCAS personal statement. The best part? Young people will be given the opportunity to meet organisations and employers from within their local communities.
Phases 3 & 4 - Social Action
Young people will be responsible for choosing and delivering a social action project based in their local communities, it’s an opportunity for them to make their mark and help the local area in which they live. This phase is where all of their NCS experience comes together. All the fun and inspiration from the first two phases means they're ready to step up and deliver their very own social action project. Plan; fundraise; make a difference!
This is an opportunity for young people to celebrate in style and for teams to enjoy a well-earned reward for doing something inspirational within their communities. At the end of their NCS experience, they'll become part of the wider NCS family and be supported with access to ongoing volunteering and development opportunities.
Call for partners
In readiness for the re-commissioning of the National Citizen Service, we are inviting expressions of interest from organisations interested in joining the APM family to help NCS reach and support more young people than ever before.
We work with local organisations to provide opportunities for young people through social cohesion, social mobility and social engagement. We bring people together to create integrated communities and invest in talent through essential skills for life and work.
