Leadership training leads team to management apprenticeship at CCL.
Career progression opportunities to build a strong and talented workforce are essential for a company’s future success.
After finding out about APM’s Skills Support for the Workforce programme, CCL Group, a leading UK provider of Cyber Security, digital forensics and data analytics, took the opportunity to up-skill and develop their workforce.
APM worked together with CCL’s team to find out what their business needed and discuss the options available to achieve their goals, including a complete review of their training practices to identify where and how they could achieve a better impact.
After identifying a need to develop leadership and operational management capability, we created a 3-day training programme for 8 management and supervisory employees. Delivered on site at CCL, modules covered: leadership & management; effective communication skills; teamwork; presentation skills; and problem resolution.
Following the first successful course, CCL decided to extend training to full apprenticeships in Team Leading (level 3) and Operations Management (level 5) to further progress their professional development.
CCL Group said: ‘The training provided was of the highest quality and very informative for the attendees. They found the training very engaging and with a variety of media. The trainer was very knowledgeable, and it has already had an impact in the business, for example, line management and how one to ones are being conducted.’ The 8 employees will complete their 18-month apprenticeships next year.
APM Training Manager, Mohammad Waseem, said, ‘I had a thoroughly welcoming group of delegates at CCL. Everyone approached the training programme, and later their Apprenticeship, with an open mind and subsequently applied their learnings in different ways at their workplace, from confirmed positive behaviour-shifts to process improvements and procedural changes.’
