The Sales and Marketing Department open their doors to NCS graduates
NCS isn’t just a four week programme, it is a continued journey of development for all young people that attend, offering countless opportunities to grow.
In February, the Sales and Marketing team invited graduates from the NCS Youth Board into the office to develop skills that will help them in their roles within the Youth Board. The Grads worked closely with individuals within the team to better understand the tools and skills used by marketeers on a daily basis.
Alexa Moore, Graduate Manager, said “This has been a brilliant opportunity for the Grads to get real life work experience and a chance to work with professionals specialised in areas they are interested in. The Grads were really engaged and took a lot from the day, offering opportunities to Graduates like this enables even more benefits to a young person taking part in NCS.”
The staff acted as mentors for the Grads and guiding them through a range of activities based on their area of interest including social media and PR. This in turn gave the grads a voice when creating and developing NCS assets for future use. Graduate work experience helps provide opportunities that will enable these young people to practice relevant skills desired by employers.
Rosalyn Allen, Director of Sales and Marketing, was delighted to have the Grads in the office and said, “This was such a great opportunity that both the team and the Grads really enjoyed. The Grads brought a great energy to the office, with lots of ideas and enthusiasm that will feature in a campaign soon! It’s crucial that more businesses offer opportunities for young people to gain experience in this way, to help them see and feel different roles in a busy workplace, and get ready for their next steps.”
