APM headline sponsor of Asian Apprenticeship Awards

11 Apr 2017 APM headline sponsor of Asian Apprenticeship Awards

A leading employment and skills training provider will be the headline sponsor for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards in 2017.

APM UK is an established provider of traineeships, apprenticeships and classroom-based learning, known for its pioneering work in helping people to upskill and secure sustainable employment.

Now in its second year, the Asian Apprenticeship Awards was founded by Birmingham-based training provider The Pathway Group, to promote the importance of apprenticeship training to the British Asian community.

Nearly 500 people attended the first awards in November 2016. This year there will be 20 different awards for apprentices and employers across a range of sectors.

“As a skills and apprenticeship provider, we’re committed to developing local talent and are passionate about recognising and celebrating apprentices from all facets of our local communities – and the employers and learning providers reaching out to them,” said Sara Goldie, APM UK Director of Skills.

“Apprenticeships have become more and more important to the economy of the UK. We would encourage all employers to enter submissions to the awards and celebrate their success with us at what promises to be another terrific event in November.”

“The Asian Apprenticeship Awards is an excellent initiative that promotes and showcases apprenticeship training with minority and underrepresented communities; we’re extremely proud to be sponsoring the awards this year,” added Adam Hart, Managing Director of APM UK, headquartered in Newtown, Birmingham.

Safaraz Ali from the Pathway Group and founder of The Asian Apprenticeship Awards said that having APM as a headline sponsor was an excellent start to 2017.

“We know that British Asians are underrepresented when it comes to apprentice training," he said.

"We decided that the awards would be a good way of raising awareness and the profile of apprenticeships amongst young British Asians. Having APM as partner and headline sponsor underscores the importance of the awards.”

Nominations are currently open for the 2017 Asian Apprenticeship Awards that will take place on Thursday 2nd November, at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
